Vision
Our vision is simple, we want “to know Christ and to make Christ known.”
We believe that we all have a part in making this a reality – to know Jesus, to grow in Jesus, and to show Jesus.
This vision occurs wherever we are– in church, school, work, the community, and with our families and friends.
And we have a love for all generations, family groupings, and singles, and a special call to “Pray for the Next Generation.”
Values
Every family has things that make it distinct – from hair colour to family traditions. As a family at Callingwood Road we are built around five core values: worship, prayer, equipping, committed community, and evangelism & mission/justice. They are central to everything we do as a church.
Worship
Only God is worthy of our worship and adoration, and while we recognise that worship is a lifestyle, we see a biblical priority in spending time corporately and through song telling God how much we love him. When we focus on God he meets with us, changes us and empowers us, but this is a wonderful by-product. Worship is to God, for God, and about God. Learn more about our worship during Sundays here.
Prayer
We place a high value on prayer- as individuals and as a church family. Prayer is talking to God and listening to God speak to us. Prayer is a primary way by which God changes the present and shapes the future. Prayer undergirds and guides all that we do- worship, serving, evangelism, and caring for one another. Find out more about prayer at CRPC here.
Equipping
We want to be disciples of Jesus – to know him and make him known. In other words, we are students, or apprentices of Jesus, learning how to be like him and to do the works he did. As students of Jesus we need to be equipped -to know the Bible, to apply the Bible to our lives, to be guided and empowered by the Spirit, to use spiritual gifts, and more. Committed Community
We place high value on community and family. We desire to be one body, encouraging, challenging, and loving one another through highs and lows. We aim to make our meetings accessible to everyone; valuing informality and fun. We take God seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We believe that in God’s family we all have a part to play. Want to join us sometime or on a Sunday? Check out what to expect.
Evangelism and Mission/Justice
We want to bring the good news of Jesus to the people of Edmonton in a way that is relevant and accessible. Callingwood Road Church is not a place to escape into Christian sub-culture, but a place where we are all equipped and encouraged to engage in the world around us. We believe that worship, evangelism, and justice go hand in hand. Learn more about how we serve God here.
